Horsenden is the largest single nature conservation site within the borough at 90 hectares. It comprises of meadows, wetland and woodland habitat. A beautiful area of ancient woodland, grassland, ponds and hedgerows, it’s home to an abundance of wildlife and provides an opportunity to experience nature and escape from city life. We will meet at the Horsenden Hill Farm, Horsenden Lane North, Greenford, UB6 7PQ before heading out into some of the hedgerows and surrounding woodlands for a 2.5 hour flavour-led-foraging walk.
Flavour-Led Foraging Walks
These walks are an introduction to foraging for flavour in order to teach on the rules and regulations, identification techniques, and the risks associated with wild food and drink. Throughout the walk we will identify seasonal ingredients and compare and contrast with their dangerous counterparts. During this I will be regularly visiting certain techniques of preservation and ways in which to create tasty wild ingredients to use at home along with a few tasters along the way.
